# Why Does Fuse Lab Exist?

Brands have more ways than ever to communicate, but that has not necessarily made communication better. More channels, more content and more pressure to move quickly can just as easily create noise, complexity and work that exists simply because it needs to be delivered.

At Fuse Lab, we do not believe every piece of work needs to change the world. Most will not. But we do believe it should have a reason to exist.

That means understanding the problem before making the thing, knowing what actually matters in the brief, and trying to create work that is useful, effective and worth the effort required to make it.

Fuse Lab started in 2017 with one client, one project, no outside capital and a fairly simple ambition: to build a creative company we would actually want to work in.

Since then, we have grown from a small creative agency into a multidisciplinary team working across strategy, social and digital, design, content, video and production, and brand experiences. We have also kept asking a bigger question: can Fuse Lab eventually build ideas and businesses of its own, rather than only building things for clients?

That question is not new. We were already discussing how to become more than a pure client-service business years ago. The specific ideas will change. The ambition does not have to.

The company has changed, but the underlying idea remains simple: bring good people together, give them the trust and context to think for themselves, and keep getting better at making work we can stand behind.
