# Onboarding Onto Client Work

If you are assigned to an existing client, do this before your first serious piece of work:

* Read the client Living Document.
* Understand what we are contracted to do and what success looks like.
* Know who owns the account and who makes key decisions.
* Review the current priorities and any relevant standards or handover notes.
* Then use Asana and Discord to understand the active work.

**Do not make a new hire reconstruct a two-year client relationship from search results in Discord. That is not onboarding. That is an escape room.**
